Solutions
The goal of the Electrical Safety Coalition is to develop a communication between workers in order to find the best way to reduce and eventually eliminate the demand for working live. Yes, working live on energized electrical equipment is occasionally necessary; however, there are proscribed and proven means of protecting workers and equipment through the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. The bottom line is that lives should not be lost due to unnecessary live work. The Electrical Safety Coalition believes that as a worker, you should know that the person asking you to work in unsafe environment needs to think twice about the wisdom of this request and to work with you and other employees to determine a safe way to get the work completed.
